8month old baby, 7 others killed in multiple crash in Enugu
Seven persons including eight month old baby have been confirmed dead in a multiple road accident along Enugu Onitsha Expressway. The accident which was confirmed to newsmen by the Enugu State command of the Nigeria Police Force, took place in Oji River Local Government Area of Enugu state earlier in the week.
The state force PRO, Ebere Amaraizu in statement said other victims who sustained various degrees of injuries were rushed to Salvation and Faith hospitals Oji River for treatment.
Amaraizu disclosed that, “On 8/4/18 an articulated vehicle with Reg No KTU 31 XA had allegedly collided with one Mitsubishi BUS NO XE 911 JJT which in turn hit another Mitsubishi bus with Registration Number FGG 233XG at Ugwuoba along Enugu Onitsha Expressway.
“As a result, both vehicles crash landed on the truck and no fewer than seven passengers were confirmed dead including an 8months old baby who later died at a nearby hospital during medical attention.
According to Amaraizu: “The deceased bodies which are yet to be identified have been deposited at the General Hospital mortuary Oji River while investigation into the accident has commenced.
