60 year old beggar arrested for homosexual in Niger state
The Niger state Child’s Right Agency has arrested a 60 year old blind beggar, identified as Idris Usman (Bagobiri), for homosexual activity committed against two young boys. The suspect, who was arrested while trying to escape from the state when he got the information that he is been thrilled, helds from Shinkafi, Zamfara state disclosed that he used to give them between N50 and N150 depending on the availability of resources in his possession.
He admitted that it is a bad habit that is not acceptable by God and humanity but was pushed by the devil, explaining that he has no wife of his own but had a child with a woman in Lagos. The two victims simply identified as Mustapha 10 years old and Zangina 12 years old JSS 11 in their separate interview confirmed the incident added that he used to invite them for the devilish act. Zangina who is sick and went to Minna general hospital for treatment was reported to be infected with bacteria in his body sequel to homosexual and was referred to the agency for investigation hence the discovery.
The mothers of the victims Umaima Umar and Fatima Umar noted that they were not aware such a thing was going on however charged that the law of the law should catch up with him. The two further stated that these has been going on for about one year now and explained that they The Director General of the agency, Barrister Mairam Haruna Kolo while speaking with the press in his office, Minna said that when the case is established in the court of law after police investigation would face live in prison or 14 years imprisonment.
According to her, “this is a homosexual case with underage just as panel code law stipulates live in prison while Child’s Right Act stipulates 14years in prison and compensation to the victim”. He challenged parents on negligence on their part insisted that they must be watchful over the kind of people their wards associate with and asked them questions when they are seen with money or other gifts hence the present administration of Governor Abubakar Sani Bello concern on the protection of child’s right.
