Again, 42,000 members of PDP decamps to APC

In a resounding gathering to denounce their members with People’s Democratic Party (PDP), about 42,000 members of PDP decamped to All Progressives Congress, (APC) in Adamawa state.

The defectors are mostly members of PDP faction in the State denounced their loyalist to the opposition party on Saturday to the ruling party (APC) through Chief Maiden Teneke attested that ” they Will sweep off PDP dirty remnants” in the state.

Gulak one of the key leading man of those decamped and the former Political adviser to Goodluck Jonathan laid their basis of decamping to be due to ‘’ impunity and lack of internal democracy, ‘’ as he cited the controversial dissolution of their faction state Working Committee (SWC) of the party by the then Makarfi caretaker executives.

‘’Members of the PDP numbering 42,000 across the 21 local government areas including party executives have today wish to formally dump PDP and join APC officially.

‘’With this development, we formally bury PDP in Adamawa state.

‘’Though we are not like others, who kept decamping when their dreams and ambitions were not met.

‘’Constitutionally we have right to leave and join any other party. Former President Olusegun Obasanjo had earlier left PDP and tore his party membership card.

‘’So also former Vice President Atiku Abubakar; it could be recalled had first left PDP and joined AC that later metamorphosed to ACN. From ACN Atiku returned back to PDP that he first left and before you know the former vice president again cross-carpet to APC and now left it to PDP again.

‘’So everyone has right to change if feel disenchanted and we have made consultations with our people who asked us to move to APC .

‘’ Degrading of Boko Haram terrorists, whose aim is to eliminate the region from the country’s map is enough to justify the defection to the ruling party, and let me assure you that PDP will soon be buried in Adamawa,’’Gulak noted.

He further stated that APC gave them all the reasons for defects with their good internal democracy mechanism and erudite progressive Work of the Governor of Adamawa, Senator Muhammadu Umaru Jibrilla Bindow.

According to him, Bindow is transforming the state in a quite precedented manner, putting the State in the archives for history of development.

”In the history of Adamawa state, it’s only Governor Bindow that has changed the State to an enviable level.

“We are now joining him not for our own interest but for the general interest of our dear state.” He added

The national official of the party, PDP, Chief Medan Teneke an ex-officio representing North East said that their decision to join the ruling party, was informed by APC-led government developmental strides.

” We will effectively use the broom to sweep off the dirty PDP in Adamawa state, “Teneke said.

Comrade Salihu Mustapha, APC North-East chairman pointed out that, the decamping was as a result of good work of APC administration.

‘’ All federal roads have been awarded for rehabilitation while some has reached a concluding state of bidding for awarding by the federal government’’.

Salihu lauded the appointing of sons and daughters from the region into key positions including chef of Army staff, General Tukur Buratai, National Security adviser Babagana Mungono, SGF Boss Mustpaha, and minister of the FCT Abuja as laudable.

Reacting, the state PDP chairman of the party, Barrister Tahir Shehu said their defection would be a big relief to the PDP ,saying that, ‘’ most of them have skeleton in their cupboard , and they were afraid of EFCC’s hammer.’’
