4, 020 benefit from Hon John Owan scholarships

The Senator representing central senatorial district of Cross River state, Senator John Owan-Enoh, has given scholarship to 4020 students cut across the six local government areas where he represented.

Speaking while presenting the cheques on Sunday, Senator Owan-Enoh said that the scholarship which amounted to over N70 million was the biggest scholarship awarded by institutions or individuals in the
state since 1999.

He said the award did not commensurate with what the people did for him by given him their mandates to represent them, ‘Some months ago I bought a motivational speaker who came and interacted with the students’

He said that the team discovered that most of the students could not make it because of financial program. He disclosed that the money will be paid into various schools of beneficiaries.

The Senator however pleaded with some persons whose names were omitted will be sorted out. He thanked the people for given him opportunity to represent them.
