2Baba marries Natasha Osawaru in private ceremony, six months after Annie separation

Innocent Idibia, Nigerian music icon better known as 2Baba, has married Natasha Osawaru in a private traditional ceremony — six months after confirming his separation from actress Annie Idibia.

Images and short video clips from the July 25 wedding surfaced online over the weekend, sparking mixed reactions across social media platforms.

The African Queen singer had in January 2025 announced via Instagram that he and Annie, his wife of nearly 12 years, had parted ways.

“I and Annie Macauley have been separated for a while now, and currently filed for divorce,” he wrote in the now-deleted post.

After facing backlash, Idibia took down the announcement but later went live on Instagram to confirm his earlier statement.

“No one hacked my account. I said what I said. I come in peace,” he said in the video.

Though the singer has yet to publicly address the wedding, a YouTube video by Naija Gist Direct showed the couple in coordinated traditional outfits, beaming with smiles during what appeared to be a modest yet vibrant ceremony.

The development has reignited conversations online, with some fans expressing surprise at the speed of the remarriage and others criticising the decision to leave Annie for a new partner.

Idibia, 48, has seven children with three different women. Osawaru is reportedly a single mother.

While the artist has not made any official statement, he appeared relaxed and joyful in the video clips — leaving fans wondering if a new version of his evergreen hit African Queen may be in the works.
