Clergy cautions Army on search for missing General

A clergy with the ECWA Plateau District Church Council (DCC), fellowship has call on the Nigerian Army not to use military force on the community where a retired military officer was allegedly found missing.

The church is sounding the caution against the plans by the military to go to any length at tracing or otherwise the where about of its retired top military officer who has not been seen or heard of since the last couple of days.” The press text advised.

It urged “the military to allow the police use its expertise in investigation to fish out those that may know or have anything to do with the incident and treat same appropriately without getting innocent members of the community affected.”

A statement by Rev Dr. David Laje on Tuesday recalled that a sad and similar incident occurred in some parts of Benue state years ago; the military raid on the community led to the death of many innocent lives.
