2027: Ododo vows transparent emergence of candidates in general election
Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo has declared that neither himself nor his administration will impose candidates in the forthcoming general election.
The Governor made his stand known, while flagging off the All Progressives Congress, APC electronic membership registration exercise at the Glass House, Lokoja.
He insisted that party stakeholders should be allowed to choose candidates for all elective positions.
In compliance with thenConstitution of APC, Ododo maintained, fairness should be uppermost, stressing that his administration is committed to core valuesnof APC and was doing what is right by fully complying with the party’s constitution to the latter.
Beyond the economic gains of President Bola Tinubu, he noted that APC continue to gain confidence of the people because of the decicive reforms.
Ododo said: “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has made our party the most attractive in Nigeria today. His policies are yielding results.
“The economy is gradually stabilising, the naira is strengthening, food prices are easing, and agriculture is taking centre stage once again.
“The beginning was tough, but it was necessary to build a stronger and more resilient nation,” he said.
According to him, citizens would appreciate Tinubu’s bold economic reforms, believing that those reforms would sustain long-term vision for national development.
Governor Ododo also called on party executives at all levels to ensure the effective and widespread implementation of the e-registration exercise throughout the state, describing the initiative as proof of the APC’s commitment to modern, technology-driven party administration.
He instructed the most senior political appointee in each Local Government Area to collaborate closely with council chairmen and relevant party leaders to ensure the exercise succeeds in every council.
“Let us open our doors wide for others to join the progressive family. Everyone who comes into this party is welcome and will be treated as an equal stakeholder,” he assured.
Reiterating his dedication to quality governance, the governor vowed to remain focused on fulfilling the promises made to the people of Kogi State, regardless of the praise his administration continues to attract.
He noted that the encouraging responses from residents only serve as added motivation, stressing that his government will not “take its foot off the pedal” in its efforts to build a safer, more inclusive, and economically vibrant Kogi State.
