2026 Budget: Goronyo hails Tinubu, says security, roads funding will ease hardship

The Minister of State for Works, Hon. Bello Muhammad Goronyo, has hailed President Bola Tinubu over the 2026 Appropriation Bill, saying the strong funding for security and road infrastructure will help ease hardship and improve living conditions for Nigerians.

Goronyo described the budget as people-centred and responsive to current national challenges, noting that the emphasis on security and critical road projects reflects the administration’s understanding of what citizens need most at this time.

He said the significant allocation to security shows the President’s commitment to protecting lives and property, stressing that sustainable development cannot take place in an unsafe environment.

According to the Minister, improved security will stimulate economic activities, boost investor confidence, and strengthen national stability across the country.

He also praised the heavy investment in road infrastructure, explaining that sustained funding for the construction, rehabilitation, and completion of federal roads will reduce travel time, cut transportation costs, and improve access to markets and essential services nationwide.

Hon. Goronyo emphasized that the combined focus on enhanced security and improved road infrastructure, alongside economic reforms, fiscal discipline, human capital development in education and health, will go a long way in alleviating the hardship currently faced by citizens.

He noted that these priorities will create jobs, stimulate economic growth, and improve the overall quality of life of Nigerians.

The Minister assured Nigerians that the Federal Ministry of Works remains fully committed to the effective implementation of all road projects approved in the 2026 budget, in line with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

He also called for the continued support and cooperation of all stakeholders to ensure the timely delivery of projects across the country.
