2019: My experience, alliance with SDP will win APC Osun East

The All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial candidate for Osun East, Rep. Ajibola Famurewa says his parliamentary experience coupled with the alliance entered into with the Social Democratic Party (SDP) will ensure victory for him and his party in the 2019 general elections.

Rep. Famurewa, who made this disclosure in an interview, said even though the political terrain was a bit unpredictable before his emergence as the APC flag bearer, adding that “but immediately, we had a coalition with the SDP everything sailed through.

“Initially, when we started we were five aspirants in the race but the coalition made everything easy and we thank God for that”.

On his chances of winning the main election next year, the two term member of the House of Representatives said that its in the hands of God and my constituency projects will speak for me.

“Though I never chaired any committee in my seven and half years in the House, my parliamentary network helped me to attract many projects into Atakunmosa East/ West Federal Constituency of Osun state.

“I hope to multiply my efforts if voted into the Senate next year and with the aid of my constituents I know it’s a possibility. There’s hardly any place in my federal constituency that you won’t feel federal presence through my attraction of federal projects,” Famurewa added.

Meanwhile, the Vice Chairmen of Ilesa branch of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Comrade Wahab Alarape said that members of the union will compulsorily vote for Rep. Famurewa to achieve his Osun East Senatorial ambition.

Speaking during a facility tour of Famurewa’s constituency projects across Atakumosa East/ West Federal Constituency, the union leader declared that the Osun lawmaker has brought succour to majority of his constituents.

“The water scheme he gave us here in this park is second to none and we are all willing to work with him to move from the House to the Senate.

“He is a cool headed man with the heart of gold and we shall ensure his success in the next general elections.

Also, the Vice Principal of Iwara Community High School, Ayodele Oyebanji was full of praises for Famurewa, describing him as a trail blazer worthy of emulation.

He said that “through his active legislative capabilities he gave our school a facelift via renovation of our classrooms.

“Before now, we had no classrooms as students had to squeeze themselves into one block of classroom. But as you can see, now we have more than enough space for students.

“It’s our fervent prayers for him to succeed because two weeks ago, he distributed books and science equipment for schools across his constituency.

“As for his senatorial ambition, we are solidly behind him with our prayers and support”.
