2019: Group drums support for Atiku

Former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has been called upon not to hesitate in running for the office of the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in 2019.

A socio-political group under the umbrella of Atiku Support Group (ASG) in Bauchi made the call through the state Coordinator of the Group, Alhaji Adamu Isa, while speaking to newsmen at the end of their meeting held at Reinsurance House, Bauchi, at the weekend.

“We are asking the former vice president not to hesitate in contesting for presidency come 2019 general election.

“We said to him don’t hesitate to vie for presidency in 2019 general election. We are solidly behind you in whichever party you decide go for, because you remain a leader who has the relevant experience, intellectual consciousness and the will to move the country forward,” Isa said.

He described the former vice president as “a very courageous man from the North East region and the country at large” who can take radical decisions to strengthen democracy in the country.

“Atiku’s commitment and contributions to all facets of life, be it economy, education, been a major key driver of development, puts him in good position in our search of a leader of distinction”, he maintained.

Adamu added that what the country needs at this critical time, and moment of recession is a man who possesses the wherewithal to reset the country and boost its economy for the good of citizens.

“We need a man, especially from the North East who can turn things around and makes things better for the devastating region which never had a president from the region, am telling you, that man will revive the country,” Adamu said.

Also speaking, the Coordinator, Bauchi Central Zone of ASG, Alhaji Aliyu Ibrahim Ningi, pointed out that the gathering was aimed at creating awareness on the need for Atiku Abubakar to vie for presidency in 2019 saying, “People come from far and near today to attend this meeting from all the 20 local government areas of Bauchi state to deliberate on how to promote our candidate (Alhaji Atiku Abubakar) for president because of the confidence we have on him.”

Ibrahim maintained that their preferred candidate has all the qualities, capacity and capabilities to rule Nigeria effectively and take it to an enviable proportion.
