2019: Ex-commissioner threatens to quit PDP in A/Ibom

The former commissioner for Culture and Tourism in Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Victor Antai has threatened to oust the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from the five local council areas that make up the Oro Nation.
Antai was recently dropped from the state executive council by Governor Udom Emmanuel along with Mr. Ibanga Akpabio, the former commissioner for labour and productivity who is Senator Godswill Akpabio’s relation.
The ex-commissioner was among loyalists of Senator Akpabio who went to receive the immediate past Senate Minority leader at Ibom Airport on the eve of his defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC) last month.
Speaking at the weekend during a reception in his honour by the Mbo chapter of the APC, Antai said he will ensure the death of PDP in Oro Nation and the enthronement of APC in the area in 2019.
