2019 elections: Niger govt will run issues based campaign – SSG

The All Progressives Congress (APC) led administration in Niger State is going to conduct issues based campaign as it prepares ahead of the 2019 general elections.

Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Ibrahim Isah Ladan gave this assurance during a chart with newsmen on preparations for the forthcoming general elections.

In attendance were members of Forum of Spokespersons of Critical Institutions in Niger State (FOSCIN), who were on a courtesy visit in Minna, the state capital.

Alhaji Isah Ladan who assured that Governor Abubakar Sani-Bello led administrations would ensure decency and decorum to take centre stage in its campaigns also called on other political parties to imbibe the same spirit.

“Our campaign is going to be issue -based and we are calling on other political parties that since the party in power is going to ensure peace in its campaign methodology, we want all political parties to play by the rules and imbibe the principle of fairness to enhance enthronement of sustainable democratic process.

“We want and we are going to encourage a free and fair election.” He emphasized

He further assured both the law enforcement agents and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of the state government’s support to enable them carry out their responsibilities without hitches, before, during and after the general elections.

The SSG added that “the state government is going to corporate with all those that matter in the process so that we will have a free and fair elections.”
