2019: APC deceiving gullible Nigerians- Dokpesi

An aspirant for the position of the national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party [PDP], Chief Raymond Dokpesi has lamented that the ruling All Progressives Congress [APC] “was deceiving gullible Nigerian citizens that its members are saints when majority of them were ex-PDP members.”

He queried, “Does Joining the APC makes one holy? What change have we seen since the taking over of power by the APC for over two years now?

Chief Dokpesi who was represented by his campaign Director General [DG] Engineer Mohammed Babangida Kachalla stated this during his visit to PDP executives and delegates in Bauchi.

Kachalla said his principal was unable to be in the state because he was summoned by the party headquarters in Abuja for a meeting while he was in Gombe state for the same mission adding that he had to fly abruptly out of the state and directed his campaign team to proceed to Bauchi.

According to him, Dokpesi unlike other aspirants who only visited one state in each of the geo-political zones would visit all the 36 states and interact with delegates “because everybody is important”.

He further said that his candidate would rely and stand with all embattled chieftains of the party currently facing ‘political persecution’ or grappling with court cases across the country.

Kachalla said Dokpesi who is also the owner of African Independent Television [AIT] and Raypower Radio has promised to give free publicity to the party via the two stations in the 2019 election campaigns if he emerges victorious at the forthcoming national convention of the party.

Responding, the state deputy chairman of the party, Alhaji Garba Dahiru who received the aspirant said Dokpesi should feel at home in the North “because his mother was from Adamawa State and he was brought up in the house of the ex PDP national chairman, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur” saying that, that made him a son of the North East as only his father hailed from Edo State.

He said the party would sit down before the upcoming December 9th national convention, make consultations and take a unanimous decision on who to choose as its national chairman.
