2018 PDP Primaries: Group Unanimously Congratulates Hon. Halilu Umar Aliero

A coalition of civil society groups, non-governmental organizations, public policy think tanks, professional associations and social affairs commentariats have overwhelmingly congratulated Hon. Halilu Umar Aliero for his outstanding victory in the 2018 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) primaries and by the special grace of Almighty God in the 2019 general elections on account of his ‘outstanding performance,

unparalleled legislative acumen, unassailable technocratic competence and unrivalled advocacy for the inalienable rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness of his Gwandu/Aliero/Jega federal constituents, Kebbians and Nigerians in general’.

The Coalition of Civil Society Organizations (CSCON) comprising of the Citizens for Accountable Government, People United to Save Humanity,

Transparent Governance Initiative, Coalition Against Corrupt Practices, Democracy Now Agenda, Gwandu Youths Initiative, Aliero Progressive Association, Jega Peoples Forum, Citizens for a Democratic Society,

Gender Rights Initiative amongst others declared that Hon. Halilu Aliero having returned unopposed by the vast majority of the primaries delegates is ‘the right leader to be re-nominated and re-elected as a Honourable Member of the House of Representatives for Gwandu/Aliero/Jega Federal Constituency of Kebbi State in the forthcoming 9” National Assembly as

he holistically delivered crucial dividends of democracy to his beloved people in the critical arenas of health, education, roads, power, rural infrastructure, agriculture, water borehole, manpower development and women and youth empowerment during his precedent shattering tenure in the 7th House of Representatives (2011 – 2011).’

‘A forward looking, resolute and highly motivated Hon. Halilu Aliero sponsored a record number of bills and motions which addressed key concerns of his people and also played a crucial role in raising their socio-economic indices to record heights.

Hon. Halilu Aliero also attracted numerous federally funded SDGs projects to his constituency and crucially kickstarted fastrack economic growth, infrastructural development and the budding industrial revolution of sorts to his Federal Constituency and Kebbi State as a whole.

As the 2019 general elections draws nearer, we of the CSCON fervently believe that the highly resourceful Halilu Aliero stands heads and shoulders above his largely inexperienced motley of opponents for the highly challenging seat and if and when he emerges victorious will genuinely champion the interests,
