2017 Hajj: Don’t return to your bad habits, Gov Ajimobi advises pilgrims

The Oyo State Government on Friday advised Muslim Pilgrims returning from the just concluded Holy pilgrimage to Mecca not to return to their bad habits as pledged during the Hajj exercise.
Gov. Abiola Ajimobi gave the advice on Friday, while receiving the second batch of the pilgrims in Ibadan.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that 1, 201 pilgrims from the state performed the just concluded 2017 Hajj exercise.
NAN reports that two of the three batches had arrived, while the last batch was being expected.
Ajimobi, represented by Alhaji Abidemi Siyanbade, his Special Adviser on Community Relations, urged the pilgrims to see the exercise as “an exit from bad deeds’’.
He also urged them to continue to do good, saying that they were supposed to move away from their sins after the pilgrimage.
“Those who go for Hajj are not expected to go back to their old bad ways of life.
“The pilgrims from the state are the best in the 2017 Hajj exercise.
“The state was the only one from Nigeria that has its house closer to Haram Mosque.
“It was so sunny this year, but we thank God that none of our pilgrims fell sick or suffer from any illness during the exercise.
“The state government ensured that pilgrims from the state were fed on Nigerian delicacies such as Yam, Eba, Amala, Pounded Yam, to mention a few,’’ he said.
In separate interviews, Alhaja Fatimah Raheem, Alhaja Rafat Badmus, Alhaji Isiaq Lawal and Alhaji Ibrahim Lawal, commended the governor and the State Muslim Pilgrims Board for its support. (NAN)
