The Lagos State Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Mr. Akin Orebiyi, has said that about 200,000 Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), meant for the state, are being expected.

Orebiyi said this on Wednesday, at the state INEC office when he met with stakeholders, ahead of Saturday’s election and informed them that about 1.6 million of the cards had been released for distribution to the electorate across the state.

He urged those yet to collect theirs to go to designated centres for collection and appealed to them to bear with INEC, saying that the commission would ensure that the cards were available before the elections.
Orebiyi also advised all stakeholders against violence during the elections, saying that nobody should come to the polling unit with weapons, explosives or dangerous substances.
