20 graduates bag first class at FUNAI

About twenty graduating students of the Federal University Ndufu Alike Ikwo (FUNAI) in Ebonyi State have bagged first class in various disciplines.

This number will join the other students in the forthcoming convocation ceremony on the 19th of December, 2017.

FUNAI’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Chinedum Nwajiuba , stated this at the Ikwo campus of the university on Thursday during an interaction with media as part of activities to mark the forthcoming convocation.

Nwajiuba also disclosed that a total of 245 students from the four faculties of the institution would be graduated having found them worthy both in character and in learning.

He also noted that much awaited school of medicine of the university will kick off next academic session alongside the school of post graduate studies of the young university, a development that would put the school at par with other universities in the country, adding that the faculty would attract best doctors in the world.

Nwajiuba, who said the feat achieved so far by the university over the last one year couldn’t have been possible without the assistance of the federal government under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari, urged students interested in studying medicine in the institution to quickly obtain the forms, and added that while that the screening exercise would commence on Tuesday, December 12, 2017.

According to him, “this year’s convocation lecture will be delivered by the President-General, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Nnia Nwodo, while Prof. Uche Azikiwe will act as Chairman of the convocation lecture.

Chief Nwodo, according to Nwajiuba, will speak on the topic, “’National Reconciliation and the Role of the Universities’’.
