10 declared wanted after military raid in IPOB camp

Ten persons have been declared wanted following a clash between security agencies and members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.
They include John Chinedu Okafor, 28 years, Okeke Chibuike Emmanuel, 25 years, Obika Chiedozie Eze, 22 years, Emeka Okafor, 23 years, Chinemerem George Chinaka, 21 years, Maxwell Ibekwe Ogazi, 26 years, Okwuchukwu Ogbu, 24 years, Ekene Mbakwe, 20 years, Chuks Oguguo Stanley, 30, and Amara Promise, 26 years.
It was learnt that the ten persons were declared wanted after a raid by the military on Eke Ututu, and Atta Akatta village, Oru/Orlu local government area of Imo State.
Trouble started after the military and members of the IPOB clashed during a procession by the Biafra agitators.

According to the military, “Following intelligent report on the activities of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Eke Ututu, and Atta Akatta village, Osu, Oru/Orlu local government area of Imo State, our troops swooped on the agitators, during which they resisted arrest and instead attacked our men.

“Subsequently, our men moved into their camp on July 23, 2024 and arrested 15 of them, whereas 10 others escaped arrest.
“They have been declared wanted. They include: Okafor, 28 years, Okeke Emmanuel, 25 years, James Chinaka, 22 years, Emeka Okafor, 23 years, Chinemerem George Chinaka, 21 years, Maxwell Ibekwe, 26 years, Okwuchukwu Ogbu, 24 years, Ekene Mbakwe, 20 years, Chuks Oguguo, 30, and Amara Promise, 26 years. Anybody with useful information on the whereabouts of the named persons should report to the nearest police or military formation, a handsome reward awaits such a person.”
Meanwhile, corroborating the military, spokesperson of the Imo State Police Command said the wanted persons were notorious leaders of the illegal group, IPOB.
He said under the guise of demanding release of Nnamdi Kanu, they are constituting nuisance to the Nigerian society.
“Already, the group has been outlawed, so anyone that is a member is offending the law.”
