PDP demands cancellation of Kano Municipal election

The returning officer, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Zetawa Ward, Kano Municipal, Sani Spain has called for the cancellation of elections at the Zetawa Ward over what he described as electoral irregularities. According to him, his party (PDP), observed series of irregularities such as over voting and faulty card reader which could not be used for the accreditation process at pulling boxes, 031, 018, 032, 033 and 025 in Zetawa Ward. He said, the party would channel its complaints to the appropriate authorities to ensure that INEC do the needful under such circumstances. The Collation Officer (CO) Mannir Sabi’u in charge of Kano Municipal while addressing the complaint brought before him at the collation Centre, regretted the development but advised those with complaints to allow the collation exercise continue and file in their queries at the INEC head office. Confirming the incidence, APC returning Officer, Faruk Shekarau said the incidence reported by the PDP was true but has been resolved between party agents from the pulling unit.
